901 Collier, San Leandro

901 Collier, San Leandro

San Leandro is mostly known as a bedroom community of ranch-style homes that sprang up after the freeway was constructed. The old town center, however, consists of older homes such as this well-proportioned Spanish colonial revival with a peaked tower at the entrance flanked on both sides by Palladian windows. Inside many nice details remain including barrel-vaulted ceilings and numerous alcoves and built-ins.
