This Northwest Oakland high-peaked colonial revival needs a bit of work, but it has good bones. Many original details remain including divided light windows, pocket doors, picture rails, and an interesting newel post. Daniella Thompson at the Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association has done extensive research on this style of house and believes it to be a hybrid form unique to the Bay Area. Her detailed essay on the subject may be found here: http://bit.ly/eOffyJ.
