The East Bay is packed full of great bungalows in all shapes and styles, and we never tire of walking into one that still retains much of its original unpainted casework. Today we visit a nice one in southwest Berkeley. The fireplace has been painted, but everything else in the public rooms looks original. The home features the high picture rail and tray ceilings that are common in California bungalows of the 1920s as well as a number of well preserved built-ins.
