1642 Stannage, Berkeley

This beautiful and relatively early Berkeley mid-century was the personal residence of a Bay Area architect by the name of George Meu. Though we are otherwise unfamiliar with his residential work, we are suitably impressed with this home. It is loaded with all of the great mid-century details that one looks for: exposed masonry and roof structure, clerestory windows, wood paneling, interesting rooflines, and ample glazing. On top of that, the seller appears to have some nice pieces of period furniture to compliment the home – potentially a nice package for an enterprising buyer.
