Paul Wong is not an architect that we at edificionado are otherwise familiar with, but this lovely Berkeley hills mid-century that he reportedly designed for himself in 1959 inspires us to find out more. From the outside, the home is made up of large flat vertical planes interspersed with glazed openings set back under deep overhangs. The interior spaces are similarly organized with expanses of wood paneling juxtaposed with walls of glass or masses of masonry. It is an interesting coalescence of an essentially international style structure with a decidedly Bay Region selection of materials.
