521 Tahos, Orinda

Last year about this time we posted about an intriguing Orinda mid-century on Tahos Road that was designed by Richard Danskin. It had an impressive living room with towering walls of glass and an unusually shaped gable. Fast forward a year and we find that the house next door is on the market – also a Danskin, and boasting some compelling interior spaces of its own. 521 Tahos has a great rambling floor plan with interesting details throughout and a wonderful mix of materials. Where its neighbor seemed to have a single focal point, 521 has captivating features distributed more uniformly making the home feel much more like a fully developed and unified design.
