Our featured home today is a Claremont Hills mid-century with a rather minimalist design aesthetic. The home is without the large expanses of wood and glass that were fairly commonplace in hillside homes of the era. It instead uses these elements quite sparingly with a glazed gable above a wood and slate fireplace and a redwood accent wall on an interesting stair enclosure. One might assume that this reduced reliance on the typical Bay Region mid-century design elements would lessen the impact of the spaces overall, but the result is actually the opposite with the accents adding texture and visual interest in a very considered way throughout the home.
