Today we feature an early and exceptional Tudor mansion designed by Walter Ratcliff. The home is a wonderful example of Ratcliff’s trademark detailing that borrows from numerous historical sources. It boasts plenty of half timbering including some that is curved in the gables and interesting roof lines with plenty of dormers. The interiors are awash with amazing woodwork, most of which appears to retain its original dark finish. Few architects have had as large an impact on the shape of Berkeley as Walter Ratcliff and this is a truly impressive example of his mature work.
