This interesting Hayward hills ranch is full of hacienda flavor and makes clear reference to the Spanish colonial rancho homes that would be the inspiration for so many ranch homes in the middle of the last century. It was designed by EG Craig who was a native of Oakland and graduate of the California College of Arts and Crafts. Craig practiced architecture from his small office in Lafayette until 2010 and though his designs were not so avant-garde as some of his contemporaries, they were clearly thoughtful and his ability to take the ubiquitous ranch form and make it fresh is worthy of praise.
