767 Haight, Alameda

Today we feature a high-peaked colonial revival in Alameda with a gable end that is really quite modest as far as these things go – a somewhat high-peaked colonial revival if you will. Of course the size of one’s peak is not all that is important, and this home is packed with plenty of other charming details so we are reluctant to dwell on it. Of particular interest are the small windows placed in the corners of the gable at the front of the house which lend a certain symmetry to an otherwise rather asymmetrical façade. Inside, the home is full of great original woodwork, period light fixtures, and an unusual corner fireplace.
