This West Oakland live-work loft was built out in the late 80s by glass artist Narcissus Quagliata for use as his home and studio. He was unfortunately not able to enjoy it for long as a series of financial missteps would force him to give up the home several years later and move to Mexico; but the compound remains a prime example of a true artist’s loft from the period when “live-work” style spaces were becoming increasingly popular on both sides of the bay.
