An Intriguing Trio of Berkeley Bungalows

The last week has seen an intriguing trio of bungalows come on the market along a short stretch of Oxford Street in Berkeley. Each one is interesting in its right, but together they make particularly nice mini tour of Berkeley after World War I. They were all built within a three year period between 1919 and 1922 yet stylistically they display a good deal of variation while still remaining true to the basic form. They represent an interesting moment of change when period revival tastes were on the rise and were beginning to make inroads into the traditional bungalow lexicon.
