This nicely appointed new modern prefab home was the prototype design for the ambitious but unfortunately short-lived Simpatico Homes. It was designed by Robert Swatt and served as both an exemplar and a personal residence for Simpatico founder Seth Krubiner in the years that followed. Today, it represents another compelling example of the creativity and ferment that characterized the prefab industry in the years leading up to the housing downturn. Like many of the other modular startups that began during that period, Simpatico is no longer around, but its idealism and its optimism remain in the structures it has left behind.
