3065 Buena Vista, Berkeley

Our featured home today is an exceptional mid-century residence designed by David Kerr Burton for his family in 1959 just one year after he received his license to practice architecture. Burton would continue practicing in Berkeley for another 50 years, but this home would remain one of his most inventive and ambitious designs.

Today it is for sale for the first time since it was built and thanks to the care of the family, it is as compelling a tribute to Burton’s immense talent today as it was 55 years ago. The carefully composed interiors clad in redwood and filled with natural light are still stunning and with an elevator and parking for six cars to boot there is a little something for everyone.
