This exquisite Panoramic Hill residence may have been built in the 1950s, but it is a perfect manifestation of the simple home ideal that Charles Keeler and Bernard Maybeck were pushing almost a half century earlier. Of course the aesthetic is decidedly more modernist than either could have conceived of at the time, but it doubtless would have seemed familiar nonetheless.

The home was built by Martin and Gloria Pelatowski for themselves and it is an unusually spare and personal expression of mid-century values combined with an unreservedly rustic First Bay Region flavor – quite a rare treat.
