348 Western, Richmond

Western Drive in Point Richmond boasts homes by a veritable who’s who of Bay Region mid-century design. Not only is it the place where Walter Brooks built the highly inventive residence in which he has lived for many years, but it also can claim structures by Rudolph Schindler, William Wurster, and John Funk, just to name a very few. The home we feature today, is yet another beautifully preserved period structure to add to the list. No architect is mentioned in the listing, but is clearly the work of someone well versed in the local vernacular of the period, and with so much original fabric intact, it is certainly worth a visit.
