The Hupp house is one of a pair of showy high period John Hudson Thomas homes situated at the very end of Hillcrest Court. It is a prime example the trademark inventiveness and outsized detailing for which Thomas is most revered. The façade alone is such an interesting and unexpected hodgepodge of disparate details unified into the most striking of compositions. It is Thomas at the height of his creativity when his designs were so unique and divergent from everything else that was going on at the time that they are difficult to shoehorn into any existing category.
