Today we feature an extremely late home designed by Walter Thomas Brooks who is best known for his rather enigmatic and idiosyncratic mid-century residences. This particular example was built in 1980 and it is a “Stem” house which is what Thomas called the more vertical tower houses that he designed in the late 70s and early 80s. It displays only a few remaining vestiges of the woodsy 70s, but the tidy and exceptionally well-preserved interiors are an excellent indication of the aesthetic preferences that would dominate the decade that followed its construction.
