2811 Parker, Berkeley

This lovely late Victorian cottage was built for Albina Sedgwick and her daughter Rose when they moved to Berkeley. The family owned a large ranch in the Stockton area, but when Albina’s husband passed away they decided to relocate to the Bay Area. They did not stay in the home for long because Albina hired Julia Morgan to build her a new house just a few years later, but even so it remains in amazing shape. It is exceedingly rare for home of this vintage to have survived with so much interior woodwork intact and unpainted – quite a treat.
