This over the top Cleveland Heights bungalow is one of a number of showy homes built by Paul Joseph around Oakland early in the last century. Joseph was born in Switzerland which may help to explain his highly embellished residences which often appear more like a Swiss casework clock than like the normally subdued shingle bungalow. His detailing never fails to surprise and this particular example appears to be especially well preserved – a welcome addition to the spring market from a little known East Bay builder.
