Leola Hall’s Honeymoon House was her most ambitious design and it was also one of her last. She built the home as a wedding gift for her new husband Herbert Coggins and it is a real showcase of her immense talent as a designer and builder. The gracious public rooms are wood from floor to ceiling with detailing that is reminiscent of her other homes but with some innovative flourishes. The home marks the pinnacle of Hall’s career as a builder. After her marriage, her focus would gradually shift away from property speculation to her other lifelong passions: politics and art.
