John Wagenet is not an architect particularly well-known today, but he had a long career that began in the offices of Julia Morgan and Henry Gutterson before he opened his own successful practice in Oakland. This picturesque Montclair Tudor revival is the home he built for his own family and it is a testament to his ability as a designer and his grasp of period revival detailing – a rare example from one of our lesser-known local designers.
