1556 Verdi, Alameda

This lovely Queen Anne cottage is the work of prolific Alameda design-builders Marcuse and Remmel. It was reportedly the home of Felix Marcuse himself which makes it particularly special. Marcuse and Remmel built a great number of speculative homes around the island, so Marcuse potentially had many options from which to choose when he selected this one. The home has since been divided up into multiple units, but fortunately a good deal of the original fabric remains.
