It is not mentioned in the listing, but this generously embellished Alameda shingle style foreclosure is reportedly the work of local architect Alfred W Smith. Smith was an extraordinarily prolific designer, so there are many of his homes sprinkled around the East Bay, but this particular example is especially lavish with wood on almost every surface in the public rooms. It needs a bit of work, but could be a real beauty with a bit of elbow grease.
