This substantial Piedmont period revival is reportedly the work of George Washington Smith who is one of the California architects most often credited with popularizing Spanish colonial revival design in the state. Smith was based out of Southern California so we don’t see too many of his homes around the Bay, but this one is a good indication of the quality of work for which he is so well known.
