Western Drive in Point Richmond boasts homes by a veritable who’s who of Bay Region mid-century design. Not only is it the place where Walter Brooks built the highly inventive residence in which he has lived for many years, but it also can claim structures by Rudolph Schindler, William Wurster, and John Funk, just to name a very few. The home we feature today is yet another beautifully preserved period structure to add to the list. It was designed by the talented local partnership of Lyman Jee and Jack Anderson fairly early in their career together. Even so, the design is a mature expression of the local vernacular, and with so much original fabric intact it is a rare treat indeed.

hi, I recently purchased the lovely house at 348, and found a treasure trove of plans and a design “manifesto” written by the original owner (who lived thee for 62 years!). It is a truly remarkable house
