This impressive modernist residence is the work of Don Olsen who was one of the few Bay Area designers to embrace the international style that was much more prevalent in other parts of the country. His homes stand out here for their purity of line and crisp geometric massing among the shingled and rough-hewn mid-century structures that are more common in our local environ. This particular example was blessed with the addition of a late 70s saddlebag at Olsen’s hand as well making it a unique opportunity to see his distinctive perspective at two points in his career.
