This early and exceptional Alameda colonial revival is reportedly the work of A W Pattiani who was responsible for some of the grandest Victorian homes on the island. We don’t see too many examples of his colonial revival designs but this one is certainly equal to any of his more familiar Queen Anne homes. Its highly symmetrical façade gives way to interiors that are packed full of lavish woodwork and oversized built-ins. It is a tribute to Pattiani’s great ability as a designer and builder that he was able work with such facility in a variety of styles.
